About the Role
Reports to: Site Director
Job Goals: Provide a safe, educational and fun environment for school age children after school hours.
Performance Responsibilities:
Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment.
Develop and implement age appropriate activities that encourage creativity, critical thinking, and build social skills.
Supervise and interact positively with children at all times.
Provide a nurturing and supportive environment to assist children in their physical, emotional, and intellectual growth.
Establish positive and ongoing communication with parents.
Prepare and maintain records and reports on each child’s progress and behavior.
Attend staff meetings, parent conferences, and professional development trainings.
Follow all policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Manual.
Program:
Develop and implement lesson plans that align with early childhood education standards.
Engage children in a variety of activities including arts and crafts, sports, games, and homework help.
Integrate technology and multimedia resources into lessons and activities.
Encourage children to explore the world around them and develop critical thinking skills.

Knowledge, Skill, and Ability:
Knowledge of child development and early childhood education.

Ability to use technology in the classroom.
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with children of all ages, parents, and colleagues.

Requirements
Must be 18 years or older with a high school diploma or GED.
12 units in ECE child development or related field.
Minimum of 2 years experience working with school age children in a formal setting.
Current CPR and first aid certification.
Knowledge and understanding of a variety of teaching methodologies and techniques.
Ability to develop, implement, and evaluate curriculum.
Good mental and physical health and stamina to work with young children in an active and engaging environment.
Ability to interact positively and respectfully with children, parents, and colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Excellent communication, organizational, and planning skills.
Verification and transcripts of past experiences and education are required.
